A section of leaders from Siaya County has asserted that President Uhuru Kenyatta does not need other NASA co-principals Kalonzo Musyoka , Musalia Mudavadi , and Moses Wetangula as much as he does their leader Raila Odinga .
According to Bondo Member of Parliament
Gideon Ochanda and former Alego MP Sammy Weya, the three “were crying foul after they were left out of the meeting between Kenyatta and Odinga on Friday.”
They further termed the complaints from the principals as trivial , adding that their presence in the Kenyatta-Odinga meeting was not necessary.

Ochanda stated that the complaints from the NASA leaders were uncalled for as political and religious leaders have been calling for a dialogue between the President and the opposition leader.
In a joint statement after Kenyatta and Odinga unveiled their unity pact, the leaders claimed that they were neither consulted nor invited to the meeting.
Mudavadi further dismissed the pact as a “conceited and selfish” agreement between two individuals.
However, Ochanda noted: “The call has been that Raila Odinga needs to meet Uhuru. It has not been that Wetangula, Kalonzo, Mudavadi or anybody else need to meet Uhuru… Raila as leader of NASA and Uhuru as president… Those are people in completely different levels.”
Weya highlighted that Deputy President William Ruto was also not in the meeting but has not come out complaining.

“I don’t see why the issue of co-principals need to arise in this case because even William Ruto who is the Deputy President did not attend the meeting . If it was a team meeting, it would have been a different issue. They need to understand that Uhuru and Raila met in the interest of the country and not on personal interest,” exclaimed Weya.
The leaders, who were speaking in Bondo constituency, lauded Kenyatta and Odinga for considering it wise to bury their political differences to unite and heal the nation.
